Idle surge. What idle surge?
How to realign trigger disc!
Make sure you align your cams (set cylinder 1 to compression) THEN install your CAS.
Took the throttle body to Ethan’s house and practically did a rebuild. Upgraded seals and ISC motor (from a VR4 TB) and sealed off the cold idle port on the throttle body. Thanks to Ethan and his Dad for showing me the tricks of DSM. Hopefully this makes megan stop surging and it will save my tools some pain because ive been throwing them too much.
Hey guys! This is Tyler’s car!
I was determined to find the cause of the idle surge. I started by takin apart some of the throttle body and checking the gaskets. As soon as I took out the first part, the gasket cracked and chipped into a few pieces. Just gotta replace them and ill be back on track.
We began to use the timing light when we realized cylinder #1 was not sparking correctly. After switching the spark plugs from cylinder 1 to 4 and 4 to 1, correct sparking resumed. Unfortunately, the idle surge is still present.
Trying to resolve the idle surge issue with Ricardo.
Car Starts!
Okay, so the car starts, but dies shortly afterwards. The idle will rev, and as soon as that happens, then the car dies. I spoke to Ed and he told me to check the capacitors on the ECU. That’s what I’m going to do.
Here are the posts and forums I am going to use:

Call me crazy but I don’t think that benefits performance in anyway. I don’t know what it does but it seems to be connected to a part of my throttle body. Maybe that’s the source of the surge. Leak? Hope that’s all.
So I tested the Idle Speed Control today and everything is fine. I was getting at least 30 ohms when testing each connector. So good news, this really expensive part is still great!!!! The bad news, the idle surge is still alive and well.
